they 'take' a rowboat late at night and row to a small island where they go fishing ect, fall asleep there and wake up to find their township has been burnt to the ground during the night (small town) and they assume their parents and other people have evacuated since all the boats are missing from the mend. They find a few kids that have been left behind.
it is set around the 40's, one boy is 14,the other is 12.
I cant work out where to go from here so if anyone has any ideas that would be great!

1.You have to on to read 3 books. There are 5 to choose from. How many combinations are there?

Nonstop Rain - The Ledger
On Thursday, officials said flooding from four days of nonstop fall in the Ormond Beach area has caused more than $3 million in damage. Flooding damaged 59 solitary select-family homes, 20 commercial properties and two public buildings in Daytona Run aground, Holly Hill and Ormond Beach. As much as 16 inches of rain were recorded over four days in Volusia County. Three initial and middle schools were closed in Daytona Beach on Thursday.
